Air-interlaced yarns

Special softness and special optics

These yarns, which are in high demand, are now produced at the Fein-Elast Group using state-of-the-art, fully automatic SSM air-interlacing machines, which have electronic single head selection and automatic doffers. The production of air-interlaced yarns is the most effective of our production processes and therefore also particularly cost-effective. Here, the elastane component is interlaced with a filament yarn by means of compressed air and wound directly onto the yarn carrier.

Air-interlaced yarns have a cloudy appearance and are characterised by their special softness. They are mainly used in the sock and seamless sector.

Highly twisted yarns For the warp in the weaving mill, air-interlaced yarns are up-twisted in a further operation on two-for-one twisting machines, which means that the sizing process can be dispensed with. The up-twisting gives the final product a more uniform surface.
